For many Nevadans living in rural and frontier communities, the distance to a clinic can be a significant barrier to receiving life-saving care. The Vitality Unlimited Mobile Services van is changing that, bringing behavioral health treatment — including therapy, substance use counseling, medication assisted treatment, and peer recovery support — directly to communities within 200 miles of Elk, Nevada.

They explored why those on the front lines of the opioid epidemic and suicide prevention are fueling the “Great Resignation.” The consensus was clear: what we often dismiss as “burnout” is actually a complex landscape of secondary trauma, moral injury, and functional distress. To sustain our workforce, we must move beyond surface-level self-care and address the systemic architecture that silences those who are “leading while bleeding.”
