The Nevada Overdose Data to Action (OD2A) team has released its February updates, including new surveillance reports, office hours, and an upcoming data training opportunity.
What is Overdose Data to Action (OD2A)?
Overdose Data to Action (OD2A) is a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)–funded initiative that supports state and local partners in using timely, high-quality data to inform overdose prevention and response strategies. In Nevada, the OD2A team collects, analyzes, and disseminates actionable data—such as emergency department visits, fatal and non-fatal overdoses, and related surveillance indicators—to help communities identify trends, guide resource allocation, and strengthen coordinated response efforts across the state.
Monthly Non-Fatal Overdose ED Visit (DOSE) Reports
Updated monthly reports highlighting trends in non-fatal emergency department (ED) overdose visits (DOSE reports) are now available.
Recent data indicate that counts are lower in most regions compared to prior years. These reports provide regional insight and can support local planning, outreach, and response efforts. Community partners and stakeholders are encouraged to review the data for use in program planning and decision-making.
February OD2A Office Hours
The OD2A team will host their monthly office hours on Friday, February 20th from 10:00-11:00 AM. These sessions are informal and have no set agenda. Participants are welcome to drop in with overdose data–related questions or requests for one-on-one technical assistance. If you are interested in attending, please register at the link below.
Upcoming Opioid and Overdose Data Training – February 26th
OD2A will be hosting the first of four data-related trainings on February 26th from 12:00-1:00 PM. This session, Nevada Opioid and Overdose Data Training: Locating Data, will show participants how to identify key opioid and overdose surveillance data sources available in Nevada and demonstrate how to access and navigate Nevada’s public overdose data dashboards. Those interested in attending can register at this link. The session will be recorded and shared with the listserv for those who are unable to attend live.
