January Marks the First National Substance Use Disorder Treatment Month

The Nevada Opioid Center of Excellence is proud to join SAMHSA’s Center for Substance Abuse Treatment in recognizing the inaugural Substance Use Disorder Treatment Month this January. This initiative highlights the benefits and availability of evidence-based treatments for individuals with substance use disorders (SUDs).

January is often seen as a time for reflection and fresh starts—making it the perfect moment to raise awareness, share resources, and support recovery. Throughout the month, SAMHSA and partners will provide valuable tools, tips, and webinars designed to educate individuals, families, and healthcare providers about SUDs and effective treatments.

Whether you’re exploring your own substance use, concerned about a loved one, or a healthcare professional seeking resources, this campaign offers something for everyone.

Visit the Treatment Month toolkit at samhsa.gov/sudtm and stay tuned to SAMHSA’s social media for updates. Together, we can spread the message that Treatment Works and Recovery is Possible.
