National Rural Health Day: Celebrating the Power of Rural
Since 2011, the National Organization of State Offices of Rural Health has designated the third Thursday of every November as National Rural Health Day – a moment to honor and celebrate the vital contributions of rural healthcare providers, communities, organizations, and stakeholders dedicated to improving the health and well-being of rural America.
NRHD shines a spotlight on the Power of Rural – a strength rooted in resilience, ingenuity, and community. It’s a day to recognize the tireless efforts of those working to address the unique healthcare challenges faced by rural populations, while also celebrating the innovative solutions and collaborative spirit that define rural health systems.
Rural Nevada Health Summit: November 19-20, 2026
Each year, Nevada hosts its own special celebration in recognition of NRHD. This year’s theme, Rural Ready Nevada, highlights the strength, resilience, and innovation of our rural communities. This year’s event will be held November 19–20 in Reno, NV and brings together rural champions from across the state to spotlight local success stories, foster collaboration, and promote awareness about the importance of rural health access and equity.
