Updated Overdose Surveillance Reports for Nevada: Monthly and Q3 Data Now Available

Nevada’s Overdose Data to Action (OD2A) program has released the latest nonfatal overdose data for the state, including both the monthly Drug Overdose Surveillance and Epidemiology (DOSE) reports through October 2025 and the new Quarter 3 Nevada Hospital Overdose Surveillance Report.

These resources provide timely information on suspected drug-related emergency department (ED) encounters across the state and help inform ongoing prevention, response, and early intervention efforts.

Monthly DOSE Reports: October 2025 Update

The DOSE reports present nonfatal overdose data captured through electronic health record information from ED visits for suspected overdoses. Data are available at the state level and for Washoe County, Clark County, and the Northern, Southern, and Rural regions.

These reports support a deeper understanding of nonfatal overdose trends and help communities, partners, and decision-makers stay informed with timely surveillance information.

Quarterly Hospital Overdose Surveillance Report: Q3 2025

The Q3 2025 Hospital Overdose Surveillance Report (July through September) uses data from the National Syndromic Surveillance Program to track suspected drug-related ED encounters across Nevada.

Key findings include:

  • Increases in suspected overdose rates in Washoe County (4.8 percent) and the Northern Region (13.3 percent) from Q2 to Q3.
  • Decreases statewide and in Clark County, the Southern Region, and the Rural Region.
  • Most ED patients treated for suspected overdose in Q3 were male, White, and between the ages of 25 and 34.
  • When looking at rates per population size, the highest overdose burden was among Black, non-Hispanic individuals.

These insights help hospital partners understand changing patterns in ED presentations and support local planning and response.
