DESCRIPTION:This hands-on workshop is for the Fort McDermitt community\, focusing on practical ways to prevent opioid overdoses\, have open conversations about the risks of opioids\, and provide long-term support for those in recovery. The session aims to strengthen families and empower the community to address opioid challenges together. \nLearning Objectives: \n\nUnderstand the importance of overdose education and naloxone distribution (OEND) to prevent opioid fatalities.\nLearn how to effectively talk to family and friends about opioids and overdose risks\nExplore available long-term recovery supports for individuals affected by opioid use disorder.\n\nPresented by: Alejandro Esquibel\, LMFT; Mark Disselkoen\, MSSW\, LCSW\, LCADC; and Jonathan Lowery \nFunding for this activity was made possible in whole or in part by the Nevada Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Director’s Office through the Fund for a Resilient Nevada\, established in Nevada Revised Statutes 433.712 through 433.744.
