DESCRIPTION:Nevada Assembly Bill 156 (AB156) is “an ACT relating to substance use disorders; providing for the separate accounting of certain money for the purchase of opioid antagonists; establishing the order in which a provider or program is required to prioritize persons for participation in certain publicly funded programs for the treatment of alcohol or other substance use disorders; authorizing a pharmacist to prescribe and dispense drugs for medication-assisted treatment of opioid use disorder and perform certain assessments under certain conditions; requiring certain health plans to include coverage for such drugs and assessments; prescribing certain requirements concerning the diagnosis and treatment of a patient with an opioid use disorder; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.” \nLearning Objectives: \nBy the end of this course\, participants will be able to: \n\nUnderstand Assembly Bill (AB) 156 and regulations promulgated by the Nevada Board of Pharmacy\nDescribe the process in which a pharmacist obtains authorization to prescribe MOUD\n\nPresented by: Yenh Long\, Pharm.D.\, BCACP\, Nevada Board of Pharmacy \nContinuing Education Units: 1 CEU\nThis training is approved for continuing education by the boards listed here. \nFunding for this activity was made possible in whole or in part by the Nevada Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Director’s Office through the Fund for a Resilient Nevada\, established in Nevada Revised Statutes 433.712 through 433.744.
